Frequently Asked Questions

What is concierge medicine?

Concierge medicine is a membership-based approach to primary care. Patients pay an annual membership fee that allows us to care for a much smaller number of patients than a traditional medical practice. This gives us the time to provide more personalized, relationship-based care and improved access to your physician.

How is this different from a traditional primary care practice?

The biggest difference is time.

Because our practice is intentionally small, we can offer longer appointments, same- or next-day visits for most urgent needs, minimal waiting, and direct communication with your physician. Rather than rushing through appointments, we have time to listen, answer questions, and develop a thoughtful plan tailored to your health goals.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept most major insurance plans for covered medical services, just as a traditional primary care practice does.

Your annual membership fee is separate from your insurance. It covers the enhanced access, communication, and personalized services that are not reimbursed by insurance. It also covers an annual DEXA scan (for body composition analysis) and annual functional movement evaluation by our in-house physical therapist.

Patients remain responsible for any applicable copays, deductibles, coinsurance, laboratory charges, imaging, medications, specialist visits, hospital care, and other services covered by their insurance plan.

What does the annual membership include?

Membership includes:

  • Longer, unrushed appointments
  • Same- or next-day appointments for most urgent concerns
  • Direct communication with your physician
  • Coordination of specialty care
  • Comprehensive preventive care and personalized wellness planning
  • Annual body composition analysis with DEXA scanning
  • Annual functional movement assessment
  • Fewer delays and a more personalized healthcare experience

Does the membership fee cover all medical care?

No. The membership fee covers the enhanced services and amenities that are part of our concierge practice.

Medical services such as office visits, procedures, laboratory testing, imaging, vaccinations, medications, specialist care, emergency care, and hospital services are billed to your insurance when appropriate, just as they would be in a traditional medical practice.

Will you still be my primary care physician?

Yes. We provide comprehensive family medicine for adults, including preventive care, chronic disease management, acute illness, women's health, and coordination of specialty care.

Our goal is to be your trusted medical advisor and your first call for most healthcare needs.

How do I contact my doctor?

Members have direct access to their physician by phone, secure messaging, and portal as appropriate. We also provide after-hours availability for urgent medical concerns.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

We strive to offer same-day or next-day appointments whenever possible for urgent concerns. Routine visits are also scheduled promptly because we care for a much smaller patient panel.

How long are appointments?

Appointments are scheduled according to your needs rather than an arbitrary time limit. Most visits are substantially longer than those offered in traditional primary care, allowing time for meaningful discussion, education, and shared decision-making.

Can you see my entire family?

We are able to provide family medicine for adults and children age 5 years and up. If you have questions about whether we are the right fit for your family, we'd be happy to discuss your specific needs.

Can I keep my specialists?

Absolutely. If you already have specialists you trust, we will continue to work closely with them and coordinate your care.

If you need a new specialist, we can help identify one who is well suited to your medical needs.

What if I need to be hospitalized?

If you require hospitalization, your hospital-based physicians will oversee your inpatient care. We remain involved by communicating with the hospital team when appropriate and by coordinating your follow-up care after discharge.

Is there a limit to how often I can be seen?

No. We encourage patients to contact us whenever they have medical concerns. Our goal is to make it easier—not harder—to receive timely care.

Can I join if I have Medicare?

Yes. Medicare beneficiaries are welcome to join our practice.

The annual membership fee covers services that are not reimbursed by Medicare. Covered medical services continue to be billed to Medicare in accordance with Medicare regulations.
